Deb is a teacher, designer and author who has been travelling and teaching throughout the U.S. for the past 25 years. She has taught at numerous sewing machine conventions as well as at Martha Pullen heirloom schools and as an instructor for RNK Distributing, conducting Jenny Haskins Touch of Magic sewing events. She also shares her collection of vintage linens and laces by doing lectures featuring the historical and sometimes hysterical history of these textile treasures.
She used 20th century sewing technology to take hand smocking to the sewing machine. Her technique looks so good that you have to look twice to tell if the smocking was done by hand or machine! She shares her knowledge via her books as well as instructional videos and patterns. She has also written articles for sewing publications such as Sew News, Threads, Sew Beautiful, Creative Machine Embroidery and the new publication Classic Sewing. Deb has appeared on the America Sews program with Sue Hausmann as well as Martha's Sewing Room with Martha Pullen.
